This page covers Social!’s public website and browser app, including events, Hangouts, chats, workout features, booking emails and link previews. It also explains the permissions for member and partner material displayed through Social! services.
Social! content
Unless a credit says otherwise, original text, graphics, logos, photographs, videos and the original selection or arrangement of material created by Social! are owned by Social!. Material created by someone else remains theirs and is used only with permission or another lawful basis.
Qualifying original work is protected automatically under the Norwegian Copyright Act; registration or a copyright symbol is not required. Facts, ideas, event times and other ordinary information are not protected in the same way as original wording, photography or design.
The Social! name, logo and visual identity are not offered for use as someone else’s branding. Do not use them in a way that falsely suggests approval, partnership or affiliation.
What you may do
You may use the website and app, share public event invitation links, make lawful private copies and quote limited parts of a published work in accordance with good practice and only as far as the purpose requires. Credit the author and source where good practice requires it. These and all other rights granted by law continue to apply.
A public invitation link is intended to be shared. A private ticket, booking-management or cancellation link is not: keep it private so another person cannot use it to access or change your booking. Sharing an invitation does not grant permission to republish private messages or another member’s profile photo.
Unless the law allows it or the relevant rights holder gives written permission, do not reproduce substantial parts of the website, republish photos or videos, remove credits, sell or license protected material, or create confusingly similar branding.
Social! does not grant permission to scrape protected material for a commercial content library or AI-training dataset. This statement does not restrict quotation, private use or any other exception that applicable law gives you.
Member-created content
Members keep copyright and other ownership rights in profile photos, event cover images, videos, event descriptions, Hangout descriptions, chat messages and other original content they create.
When you upload content through a Social! feature or send it to Social! with a clear request that it be published, you confirm that you have the necessary rights and permissions. You give Social! non-exclusive permission to host, store, reproduce, resize, format and display it only as needed to provide that feature, including using our hosting, storage and email providers. For an event, this includes its invitation page, public sharing preview and related booking emails. For private chats, it means delivering content within that conversation, not publishing it publicly. Ownership does not transfer to Social!.
Using member content in separate advertising or promotional material requires separate permission. Posting something in a community chat does not by itself give Social! permission to publish it elsewhere. You may ask us to stop future use, although copies already shared or retained for a legal or administrative reason may not disappear immediately.
Event material
People who create an event are responsible for the text and images they submit. Event creators must not upload copyrighted material, images of identifiable people or third-party branding unless they have the necessary permission or the use is otherwise lawful. Published event details and cover images can appear in the app, on the public invitation page, in booking emails and in previews when the event link is shared elsewhere. Check the image framing before publishing; different screens and external platforms may display different crops or sizes.
Sharing a public link may cause the receiving platform to cache its title, image and description. Removing or changing the event in Social! may not immediately update those external previews. Public event links are separate from attendees’ private booking links.
Public event facts—such as time, location and availability—may be reused as facts. The original wording, photography, illustration and design around those facts can still be protected.
Workouts, chats and member benefits
Members keep any rights they have in original text or images they submit through a member workout challenge. Workout dates, durations, scores, rankings and other ordinary activity facts are not protected in the same way as original writing, photography or design. Social! may display submitted activity information and calculated results as needed to run the challenge and its leaderboard within the member area.
Benefit partners keep their rights in their names, logos, offer descriptions, images and terms. They allow Social! to format and display that material only as needed to present the benefit through the member area. Social! does not claim ownership of partner material merely because it appears in the member area.
GIFs and other externally supplied media remain subject to their owners’ rights and provider terms. The ability to search for or send a GIF is not a general licence to reuse it outside the service.
Photos and people
Copyright in a photograph and the rights of the people shown in it are separate. Permission from the photographer does not automatically permit public use of an identifiable person’s image. Section 104 of the Norwegian Copyright Act generally requires the depicted person’s consent, subject to the exceptions in that section.
If you appear in Social! content and want the use reviewed or removed, contact contact.socialoslo@gmail.com.
Third-party materials
Partner logos, benefit descriptions and offers, venue materials, platform names, embedded content and other third-party materials belong to their respective owners. Their appearance here does not transfer any rights to Social! or to website visitors. The website also uses open-source software under its applicable licences. External websites have their own terms and permissions.
Report a copyright concern
If you believe material on a Social! service infringes your rights, email contact.socialoslo@gmail.com with:
- Your name and contact details.
- A description of the original work and your relationship to it.
- The exact page, post or event where the material appears.
- Why you believe the use is unauthorised and what outcome you are requesting.
We will review the report, may temporarily hide material while we investigate, and may contact the person who supplied it for a response. A report is not, by itself, proof of infringement, and material may be restored if the concern is not supported. Knowingly false or misleading claims may be rejected.
Permission requests
For permission to reuse Social! material, or for any other copyright question, contact contact.socialoslo@gmail.com before use.
For personal-data deletion or image-privacy requests, see the Privacy Policy. Ending a Hangout, deleting a message or closing an account does not transfer copyright, recall delivered emails or automatically remove copies held by other people.
